Case Study: Andrews McMeel Universal
Challenge: Andrews McMeel Universal, a syndicate and publisher, was ready to reach a new level of revenue in a tough market. AMU’s Board asked for division-specific business plans that would achieve its financial targets.
Results: Reynolds Consulting, LLC was asked to develop three strategic plans, one for each division, and then integrate them into a corporate-level plan—all within three months. The Board of Directors approved the plans, and the company is operating from them today. Reynolds Consulting, LLC was recently asked back to help revise one plan as marketing conditions had changed—the plans are a meaningful part of their business management process. AMU achieved clarity in direction and alignment in activities with goals and between divisions.
“Margaret Reynolds brought to the table not only valuable executive experience as a strategic planner but also the insight as a board member to critically examine our business from the strategic viewpoint. She was able to work effectively with three diverse divisions, uniting thoughts and efforts to pull together three different but connected strategic plans in a period of less than three months. We plan to use Reynolds Consulting, LLC for future projects.” — Michael Stewart | Vice President Human Resources | Andrews McMeel Universal
